Game of Thrones – Episode 2 – The Lost Lords

posted in: Games | 0

Based on the HBO’s television drama, Game of Thrones, Tellgate Games released a six chapter game series that tells the story starting from Season 3 Episode 9 – The Rains of Castamere, also known as “The Red Wedding”. Throughout this six chapter series, House Forrester, rulers of Ironrath, is the focal point as they were loyal bannermen serving House Stark leading up to Walder Frey and Roose Bolton’s betrayal to the Starks and any bannermen that followed them as they were slaughtered over a wedding reception within the dining hall of The Twins. Now, Roose Bolton is Warden in the North and his bastard son, Ramsay Snow, is laying down the law by using intimidation, violence, and his fathers name to push around the Forresters in Ironrath. This game puts the gamer in the drivers seat as the actions and choices they make can influence events and character reactions across the six chapter series.

I’ve decided to not have any commentary during this recording so that you, the viewer, can completely immerse yourself in the story without listening to breathing into the mic or my banter over what the characters are saying. Enjoy the clip for what it is and I will defend my choices later in this post.

Below are my explanations of all the choices I’ve made throughout the game as well as my rating of the game. If you haven’t seen this video before, consider this your “Spoiler Alert” warning to not read the below contents until after you’ve watched the video.

Tazal:
Choice 1: Break his neck
Choice 2: Break his leg *My Choice*

I’m not sure if it was true about killing him would bring the Lost Legion down on us, but just in case it was true, I broke his knee enough so if we were to meet again he’d have a disadvantage in a fight. What the TV show refers to as “a cripple”.

Forrester Small Council:
Choice 1: Just handle it
Choice 2: Keep them drunk *My Choice*
Choice 3: Starve them out

The Whitehill soldiers are obviously not going anywhere anytime soon. If I am able to band together an army or at least a team of men the can strike the Whitehill men down while they are dull on drinking my house’s wine, it’s worth the investment. I hope this happens sooner rather than later.

Elaena Glenmore
betrothal letter:
Choice 1: Finish letter to Ser Maynard
Choice 2: Forge a letter to Elaena Glenmore

At the time I made this decisions, I honestly don’t know how this would of turned out. My idea was giving Rodrick any upper hand to marry off into a house that has the army to help our unfortunate circumstances in House Forrester is worth any risk. I hope it pays off….

Brother Brawl:
Choice 1: Punch Finn
Choice 2: Stop it, Finn. *My Choice*
Choice 3: Just clam down.
Choice 4: Don’t move

Ok – Cotter and I aren’t exactly innocent here, but Finn has gone out of his way to be a complete ass since I got to the wall where as Cotter greeted me nicely, so do I really care who stole his blade? No. On my initial choice, I didn’t expect Finn to throw a punch with no words right off the bat, however he did. I was reluctant to inform him of hitting me again would result in me getting a lot more aggressive, instead of just hitting him back, but he continued to come at me. This was a brawl that was semi-satisfying at the end. I would of loved to do more damage, but it was broken up by Jon Snow and Frost Finger. I don’t know how this will effect my future, but I need a friend at the wall. Cotter was an easy choice since he was so inviting as soon as I arrived at the wall.

Sara’s Secret:

Choice 1: Why would I do that?
Choice 2: I can’t promise anything.
Choice 3: Of course I will.  *My Choice*

In this episode we find out that Sara is a bastard. I decided when it came down to helping her lose her last name so she rids herself of her bastard last name “Flowers”, I offered to help. I don’t know how this will effect me in the future, but I feel this may play and an important part. I’m not sure.

Ironwood Deal:

Lord Tyrion and I discussed an Ironwood deal. This will hopefully help strangle the Whitehills from selling our house’s ironwood. I’m not sure where this will lead, but it can only be good to work against the Whitehills.

Elaena Glenmore:
Choice 1: Yes. My family needs this.
Choice 2: You have no choice
Choice 3: No… you are free to choose  *My Choice*

In a way, the letter that my sister wrote did pay off. The “Queen” got her point across that we should get married, yet they kind and gentle Rodrick reassured Elaena that she shouldn’t be forced to marry Rodrick. My compassion worked which convinced her to uphold our marriage and….what…..damnit…our conversation rudely interrupted by none other than Lord Whitehill. That figures….

Lord Whitehill:
Choice 1:Kiss the ring *My Choice*
Choice 2: Refuse

The last thing I wanted to do is kiss this scum’s ring, but if it allowed Ryan to come to the funeral and to keep him safe, I did it. I intend for it to mean nothing when I put the blade through their necks for their suffering they put on us.

Coal Boy Hero:
Choice 1:Attack Damien *My Choice*
Choice 2: Run for your life

The coal boy seems to be a valuable ally, I couldn’t turn my back on him while he was being drowned. I decided to finish off Damien and save his life. He takes it upon himself to cover up the evidence by getting rid of the body so nobody can find it. Of course my decision to keep the knife after the confrontation was a bonus so I had an item to keep myself safe if I needed it. Damien spilled the beans that I’ve made enemies in Kings Landing. The dagger should come in handy.
